Unitrust Insurance Chatbot Terms & Conditions

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Unitrust Chatbot, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from using this service.

  1. Chatbot Functionality

Chatbot offers automated assistance for various services, including purchasing insurance products such as Motor, Travel, and Marine insurance. It also helps users obtain quotations, report claims, reprint certificates and policy documents, make payments, and connect with support. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, the responses provided are for informational purposes only and should not be considered an official piece of advice.

The following are the action words used in the Chatbot

  1. Type “Hi” or “Hello” to start a conversation with the bot.
  2. “Continue” to move forward or navigate to the next step
  3. “Go Back” to return to the previous step.
  4. “Stop” to exit or opt-out
  5. “Select a product” to pick a task or select a product for an action.

 

  1. User Responsibilities

• Accuracy of Information: Users must ensure all information provided to the chatbot is accurate and up to date.

• Account Security: Users are responsible for safeguarding login credentials and personal identification information (e.g., PINs, passwords).

  1. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • • Use the chatbot for illegal activities.
  • • Share sensitive information unless explicitly required and secured by the chatbot.
  • • Attempt to manipulate or exploit the chatbot for unauthorized purposes.
  1. SIM Swap and Identity Fraud

• User Awareness: Users must notify Unitrust Insurance immediately if they suspect a SIM swap or any other form of identity theft.

• Limited Liability: The service provider will not be held liable for unauthorized actions resulting from a SIM swap unless the user promptly reports the incident.

• Mitigation Measures: The chatbot employs security checks, but users should independently verify sensitive actions (e.g., money transfers, account updates) through additional secure channels.

  1. Data Privacy

• Collection and Use of Data: Your interactions with the chatbot may be logged for quality improvement, fraud detection, and compliance purposes.

• Data Protection: We adhere to local data protection laws, e.g., NDPR to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data.

• Data Consent – At Unitrust we recognize the responsibility to protect the personal information you shared with us. By providing any personal data, you are consenting to the use of your personal data for processing your insurance cover and for our compliance purposes. You also consent that you may receive sensitive correspondence about the information you have provided via email or sms.  

  1. Disclaimer of Warranties

The chatbot is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The service provider does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the chatbot. While we strive to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information provided, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability with respect to the information, products, services, or related graphics contained in the chatbot for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

  1. Limitation of Liability

The service provider shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the chatbot. This includes, but is not limited to, damages caused by SIM swap fraud (WhatsApp hijack), device theft, data breaches, technical failures, or third-party actions.

  1. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated via email/website update, and continued use of the chatbot constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
